Charlie Winston is an English singer-songwriter and multi-instrumentalist. He has a long family history in music – his older brother is singer Tom Baxter and sister performs asVashti Anna. This has allowed him a solid experience of all the connections of the music world including writing, recording and playing for acts such as his brother Tom Baxter, Daniel Powter, Medi and the Medicine Show, Miranda Barber, Sam Semple and Judy Tzuke.
In 2007, Charlie Winston released his self produced debut album “Make Way” and shortly after embarked on tour with Peter Gabriel on European Summer tour.
Charlie also composed music for film (The Day I will Never Forget by Kim Longinotto), theatre (Almeida Theatre, Nottinghill Gate Theatre), dance (Sadler’s Wells, Ballet Rambert) and has often appeared in various TV (Top Of The Pops, Good Morning TV, CD UK) and radio shows (The Steve Merchant Show on BBC 6Music, Spanish Radio 3 with Julio Ruiz, BBC Radio with Stephen Foster).
In Charlie Winston’s band, the Oxymorons, harmonica plays devil’s advocate within moods, from dirty blues riffs to ethereal angelic cries, meanwhile bass, drums and guitar lay the ground rules, only to be broken. To add to it the Extramorons brass quartet puff their way to a sound that’s carnivalesque. There is an overriding positivity throughout every performance that leaves the audience wanting to dance, laugh and cry all in the same breath.

Wayne Shorter a COREA, CLARKE & WHITE v Bratislavě 10. a 11. 11. 2009
Před čtyřmi lety jsme Shorterovo kvarteto mohli slyšet v Kongresovém centru v Praze ve stejném složení, v jakém vystoupí 10.11.2009 v Bratislavě. Složení je následující: Brian Blade (bicí), John Patitucci (kontrabas) a Danilo Perez (piano). Koncert je plánovaný v Incheba Expo Aréně – Hala B0.
Dalším úžasným koncertem bude vystoupení superskupiny ve složení Chick Corea, Stanley Clarke & Lenny White hned den poté, tedy 11.11.2009, taktéž v Bratislavě.

Legenda jazzové kytary Rudy Linka vystoupí po roce opět v Alterně v rámci turné NYC-PRG a zpet v doprovodu fantastickych newyorskych hudebniku .
Rudy vydal za svou kariéru celkem čtrnáct CD (u prestižnich hudebních labelů jako je např. Enja reocords nebo Universum), na nichž spolupracoval jak se členy svého tria tak s řadou renomovaných jazzových hudebníků. Za všechny jmenujme alespoň kontrabasistu George Mraze, trumpetistu Milese Evanse nebo Johna Scofielda, se kterým natočil album „Lucky Southern“, jež bylo prestižním americkým magazínem “Jazzif” zařazeno mezi pětadvacet nejlepších světových jazzových alb. Respektovaný časopis Down Beat ho ve své anketě zařadil mezi deset nejlepších jazzových kytaristů světa.
RUDY LINKA (1960) studoval klasickou kytaru na pražské Konzervatoři, kompozici v Hudebním institutu ve Stockholmu, a ve studiích pokračoval i v rámci stipendia na Berklee College Of Music v Bostonu. Od roku 1986 žije v New Yorku, kde navštěvoval The New School a soukromě se učil u Johna Scofielda, Jima Halla a Johna Abercrombieho. Vedle živého hraní a skládání se Rudy Linka věnuje i pedagogické činnosti. Světová kritika cení Linkova alba Czech It Out, Always Double Czech (Enja) a Lucky Southern (2003). Kromě koncertů příležitostně doprovází Rudy Linka improvizovaná představení Divadla Vizita, v Čechách rovněž organizuje jazzový festival Bohemia JazzFest.

A partial list of the musicians he has played and or recorded with include: John Blake, Seamus Blake, Luis Bonilla, Cameron Brown, Billy Drewes,Richard Kimball, Frank London, Donny McCaslin, Mulgrew Miller, Shunzo Ono, Ralph Peterson, Jack Wilkins and Willie Williams.Rich has studied at Manhattan school of Music
